Award-winning singer and bass player, recording artist and jazzman Flammeus is often likened to a modern-day John Lennon, The Smiths and Joni Mitchell, wrapped in an uplifting message of spiritual enlightenment. His new project ASAP - As Sane As Possible is slowly being revealed right here and on live video chats that you can join, too!

There has never been a more urgent time for looking inward and asking ourselves "what can I do to help heal the world?" The world is full of human misery, and we can all do our part - it all starts with ourselves. To illustrate how this message can be conveyed through music, here's the first single that Flammeus put out in anticipation of the full release of ASAP :

This song takes inspiration from Icelandic elven folklore, and Tolkien (who pictures elves as the highest ideal for humanity), and speaks of the Elven Dream: A world in which everyone chooses to quantum-leap into the best version of themselves every day, and suffering becomes an impossibility.

Your participation in the project means (THE WORLD TO ME and that) this message gets spread to the suffering souls that need it, in the form of sweet sweet music AND in the form of shifting the paradigm of needless suffering and thereby producing a ripple effect of love and pure consciousness through the entire human community. You have an infinite capacity of love within you already, an infinite power to do good - we just need to be reminded of this when we forget, and that is the purpose of ASAP - As Sane As Possible.

After countless crazy musical adventures like...

...featuring on The Voice in Iceland when I was just 18

...writing, producing and releasing my first album The Yellow and taking it to the esteemed Icelandic battle-of-the-bands Músíktilraunir in 2019 and claiming the award for best bass player

...winning the prize for best newcomer at the international music festival Iceland Airwaves later that same year, and most recently using my experience to teach songwriters how to master their craft...

...I realized that something still wasn't right.

You see, I recognized that while I was proud of the songs I'd written, they always seemed to come from suffering.

In fact, I discovered that for the longest time, I subconsciously fooled myself into perpetuating my own suffering, clinging to it, because I loved the bitter-sweet feeling of turning my pain into art. This was a tough truth to face, and an even tougher pattern to let go of.

Those feelings DID help me make amazing songs! BUT...

...I wasn't exactly enjoying myself in the process.

ASAP marks a shift in my trajectory - a declaration of love to myself.

I will no longer suffer for the sake of "making better art."

I will be "as sane as possible."

Here's a song I wrote when I was 14, deep in the melancholy state of romantic heartbreak (many people's favorite of my first album), just to demonstrate what kind of energy I was emitting before I made the conscious choice to be happy:
