Ragna Kjartansdottir

Ragna Kjartansdóttir aka Cell7, is a rapper, singer, producer and an educated sound engineer. A pioneer and a veteran of the Icelandic Rap scene, she made her mark with the first Icelandic hip hop band Subterranean who won the Icelandic Music Awards for the most promising band.

Cell7 is constantly cited as an inspiration for established artists and women just breaking into the genre. As a solo artist, she has released two albums; ?R“Cellf” and ?“Is Anybody listening?”,? which won the Icelandic Music Award for best hip hop and rap album 2019 as well as being nominated for the Nordic Music Prize the same year.

Ragna studied audio recording in New York and since then, has been working professionally as a sound engineer, mainly focusing on sound design. Ragna has worked on movies and TV series such as; Lazytown, Ófærð, Vargur, From Iceland to Eden, The Valhalla Murders, Katla and RVK 112.
